Interconnect is the network for women studying science, engineering, technology and the built environment at college and university in Scotland (see Equate Scotland).

The Interconnect Inspire career development grant scheme, launched in September this year, offers grants of up to £500 to female students studying science, engineering, technology or the built environment. The aim is to help students achieve a project or a plan which will enhance their career. The grant can be used to pay for a wide range of activities projects for example:

-A specialist training course to upgrade skills (please note this does not include tuition fees for a full time or part time college/university course)

-Attending a conference or seminar which will improve students professional knowledge and contacts.

-Tools or equipment needed to develop and practice skills.

-The cost of travel or accommodation to enable a student to carry out research for a specific project or enable them to carry out voluntary work, work shadowing or work experience

The deadline for applications is Friday 30th November and applicants will be notified of the outcome in January.
